When we were there, I remember thinking, "It looks like another planet!" Which is wierd, 'cause it's not like I've been to another planet.

Oh, I thought you meant the Weston.

Actually, I heard that they've used the crater for training astronauts. I think it was for moon missions. And it really does look a lot like the pictures I've seen of Mars, except for the fact that Mars doesn't have any plants at all, and Haleakalaa does have some very beautiful ones, although they're few and far between.
